Becas en Norteamérica

La doctora Schimitt describirá de manera general cómo es el proceso de postulación para becas de posgrado en Norteamérica (cómo elegir a qué beca presentarse, cuáles son los requisitos que suelen pedir a les postulantes, qué actividades suelen realizarse durante la beca y demás). Asimismo, intentará responder las dudas de les participantes o que surgieran durante la exposición.

Cristina Schmitt



Associate Professor of Linguistics at Michigan State University. Cristina got her PhD at University of Maryland College Park 1996. Her PhD is on the syntax of noun phrases and aspect cross linguistically but for the past 15 years has also worked in Language Acquisition. The acquisition work covers syntax-semantic properties and also acquisition of grammatical properties in contexts of input variability (sociolinguistic variation and variation due to dialect contact). Has published in Language Learning and Development, Language Acquisition, Natural Language and Linguistic Theory, Lingua, Glossa among others. Currently has funding from the National Science Foundation to work on language acquisition by Paraguayan children living in Buenos Aires with Lucia Brandani and Alicia Avellana.
