Conference on Language Acquisition in Romance Languages
The Conference on Language Acquisition in Romance Languages intends to gather people working on the acquisition of language from a generative perspective. Usually the local organizers of every edition publish a collection based primarily on papers from the workshop. Papers are selected on the basis of blind-refereing and their contribution to specific themes of particular interest arising from the workshop. Papers are invited for oral and poster presentations in the area of the acquisition of Romance languages. All topics in the fields of (typical and impaired) first and second language acquisition from a generative perspective will be considered. Presentations will be 20 minutes long, followed by 10 minutes for discussion. The best abstracts will be published in the new Journal “Words”, a Journal on Language Acquisition, Processing and Disorders.
Authors are invited to submit an abstract (in English) for review. No more than two first-authored abstracts may be submitted. Abstracts must be at most one page long on an A4 with one-inch margins and typed in 12-point font. An optional second page may include data and references. Abstracts must be anonymous. Please indicate if you wish to submit for the main session or the workshops.

Please, name your word file with the first author’s surname (e.g., brown.doc), use ‘Romance Turn Abstract’ in the Subject header and include the information in (1) – (7), which should constitute the body of the message.

Workshop on the acquisition of Locality
Facing Locality will take place during the Romance Turn in Ibiza-Eivissa. This workshop intends to gather people working on any aspect of syntax that may involve locality effects. Nowadays there are theoretical explanations that assume that elements in the sentence are generated in situ and other explanations that assume movement. In case of movement, we can find Locality effects that restrict the interpretation of traces. All topics on any aspect that might involve locality effects and its acquisition will be considered: head movement, operator movement, Wh-questions, Relative Clauses, Pronouns, Anaphora …
Workshop on the acquisition of Clitic Pronouns
Meeting Clitics will take place during the Romance Turn in Ibiza-Eivissa. This workshop intends to gather people working on any aspect of the acquisition of clitic pronouns. Nowadays there are theoretical explanations that assume that clitics are morphemes of the verb and other explanations that assume that they are constituents in the sentence. Also, some proposals assume that clitics have their own designated position, while others assume that they move. With respect to the acquisition of clitics, some studies find clitic omission, sometimes depending on linguistic properties (e.g. participle agreement, object drop). All topics on clitic pronouns and its acquisition will be considered.
